SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- The Merrimack women's volleyball team fell to Bryant University, 3-1, at Chase Athletic Center on Friday afternoon.
Merrimack came out strong and won the first set before the Bulldogs took each of the next three sets for a 21-25, 25-18, 25-13, 25-13 victory.
Merrimack was led by freshman outside Tami Afolalu, who finished 11 kills. Sophomore right side Jocelyn Hammerstrand also posted double figures in the kill column with 10.
The Bryant Invitational will continue Saturday as the Warriors take on the Fordham Rams at Chace Athletic Center. First serve is set for 12:30pm.
