Poughkeepsie, NY — Merrimack College goalkeeper Kaitlyn Brewi finished with a season-best eight saves, but the Warrior women's soccer team fell to Marist University, 1-0, in its Metro Conference opener on Saturday afternoon.
Marist took a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 27th minute and the Warriors weren't able to find the equalizer despite some strong scoring chances.
Merrimack senior forward Sophia Keogh led the Warrior offense with two shots on goal. Merrimack finished with 8 shots in the contest.
The Warriors will host the Saint Peters Peacocks at Martin's-Mejail Field next Saturday at 1 pm. It'll serve as an alumni day for the program, with festivities honoring those who previously represented Gabe Mejail's teams.
