NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack women's tennis team looks to start its fall season on a strong note as the Warriors host Southern New Hampshire University on Wednesday afternoon.
Merrimack head coach Adam Courtemanche, who is entering his fourth season at the helm, has high expectations given the roster is the largest he's had in his tenure. The Warriors have 10 contributors, a group that included two returners, six freshmen and two graduate students.
"The team is very deep with a lot of the girls being close in level," Courtemanche said. "This is going to help push us each day to improve. Our overall goal is to make the conference tournament at the end of the spring season."
Courtemanche will look to sophomore Pia Vargas-Lopez, one of two returners, for success atop the lineup this season. Paris Marozzelli and Latizia Bojara, both of whom are graduate transfers after playing four years of college tennis, will also help the younger players.
"We are ready to go for our first match of the season," Courtemanche said.
Merrimack will host SNHU at North Andover High School on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
