NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. — The Merrimack College women's volleyball team dropped its home opener against the UNH Wildcats, 3-1, at the Sakowich Center on Tuesday night.
After the Warriors earned a second-set victory, the Wildcats took the third and fourth sets for a 25-16, 16-25, 25-18, 25-16 victory.
Merrimack stormed back to even the match behind Jocelyn Hammerstrand and Mckenna Shotwell, who finished with nine kills each.
Vaia Tsioutsioulas was a key contributor off the bench for the Warriors, as she pitched in with seven kills.
The Warriors (0-7) now turn their attention to the Bryant Tournament in Smithfield, RI. Merrimack will face the Bulldogs on Friday afternoon before taking the floor against Fordham on Saturday..
