By reaching the Round of 16 in both the main singles and doubles draw at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association East Regional Championships this past weekend, junior Denis Davydov of the men's tennis program has been named this week's Fuddrucker's Male Athlete of the Week.

Davydov reached the Round of 16 in both the main singles and doubles draws at ITA East Regionals over the weekend. Davydov entered the singles draw as a seeded participant, and won a pair of three-set tilts in his first two matches in the main draw over opponents from UDC and Concordia. In doubles, Davydov prevailed in 8-5 fashion over entries from Queens College and Saint Thomas Aquinas to record a pair of wins.

Davydov and the rest of the Warriors have the week off before returning to action next Thursday when Merrimack plays its lone NE10 match of the fall at Saint Anselm at 3 p.m.
