WORCESTER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's tennis program's match on Wednesday at Assumption went about as long as it could go, with the host Greyhounds outlasting the Warriors, 5-3, in a darkness-shortened Northeast-10 Conference tilt from Worcester.

Rapid Recap (Doubles)
- Playing together for the second time as a pair, senior Mackenzie Blair (Thomaston, Conn.) and junior Lauren Persson (Barnstable, Mass.) won a tiebreaker to get Merrimack one point in the doubles venue. Tied at eight-all through sixteen games, Blair/Persson won the breaker by a 7-4 margin to take the third flight
- The hosts doubled up the Warriors (8-4) at first and second doubles to secure a 2-1 lead entering singles play

- Merrimack's two singles victories came at the fourth and fifth flights. Coming off a strong showing at ITA East Regionals, Briggs posted a straight-sets victory including a seven-game triumph in the second set to win at No. 5
- Another Warrior who showed well over the weekend, freshman Cassie Restrepo (Miami, Fla.) returned to dual-match play with a sweep of No. 4, 6-4 and 6-3
- The Greyhounds won at No. 2 and No. 6 to move within a point of clinching the match, but after junior Mana Seifaei (North York, Ontario) forced a third set at first singles, Assumption's Cassie Burbine outlasted the Warriors' top option to give Assumption the win
