Mackenzie Blair (Thomaston, Conn.) picked up a come-from-behind win at sixth singles, but that proved to be the lone point on the day for the Merrimack College women's tennis team as the Warriors fell to visiting Adelphi University, 8-1, on Saturday in a Northeast-10 Conference match played indoors at Northeast Tennis Center in Middleton, Mass.

- For the first time this season, junior Mana Seifaei (North York, Ontario) and senior captain Danielle Dunn (Middleton, Mass.) paired together at first doubles, matching up with Adelphi's top duo, but the Panthers prevailed in a nine-game match

- Blair's win at No. 6 came after a 6-2 defeat in the opening set. The fourth-year Warrior buckled down to win the second set in a tiebreak (7-6) before triumphing in a third-set breaker, 10-5, take prevail in three sets
- The first five flights all went in favor of Adelphi. Seifaei played two close sets at No. 1 (6-3, 6-4) before falling with junior Lauren Persson (Barnstable, Mass.), Dunn, freshman Cassie Restrepo (Miami, Fla.) and sophomore Mia Briggs (York, Maine) rounding out the rest of the singles ladder
