Members of Track & Field Team Compete at Multi-Meet

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Merrimack College track & field team sent four student-athletes to the Mondshein Multi-Meet event hosted by Kutztown University on Thursday and Friday. The men competed in the ten event decathlon and the women in the seven event heptathlon.

Highlights
  • Sophomore Ryan Nesta finished his decathlon in a personal best, setting personal records in the 100m (11.12), 110H (15.45, pole vault (3.55m) and the javelin events (40.22m).
  • Senior John Braga was leading after the first day, but withdrew on the second day. He set a meet record in the long jump (7.07m) and ran the 400m dash with a time of 51.68 seconds.
  • Sophomore Gabrielle Eldridge finished with 3,503 points. The highlight of her performance included the shot put of 11.62m and the long jump of 4.76m.
  • Freshman Sterling Seymour completed her first heptathlon with a score of 3,123 points, setting personal bests along with way in the 100H (18.12), 200m (28.94), and javelin throw (16.80).
Up Next
The Warriors return home next weekend for their first-ever home meet at Merrimack Stadium. It is also Alumni Day for the program. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
