North Andover, MA-- The Merrimack Men's Track and Field Team won six events and racked up 24 podium finishes in their home meet, the Merrimack Track Alumni Classic at Duane Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
Gab Qureshi won the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.69,
Thomas Scalia and
Maddox Merlo made it an all Merrimack podium with times of 23.01 and 23.02.
Ben Rich won the 5,000 meter race with a time of 15:35.82,
Ben Smith and
Brody Fahys also had podium finishes of 15:42.72 and 15:43.62.
Will Shahbazian placed sixth with a time of 15:55.57.
Qureshi also won the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.07,
John Azpiri-Sudusky placed fourth with a time of 51.59.
Aidan Dupill won the 1,500 meter race with a time of 4:00.53,
Michael Alleva finished seventh with a time of 4:07.64.
The team of
Manny Mahoney, Maximus Zitnay,
Jadis Yarbrough,
Elizardo Melenciano won the 4x100 relay with a mark of 42.38.
Owen LaRoss won the Discus throw with a throw of 44.19 meters, and
Grant Eastin placed third with a mark of 42.61 meters.
Manny Mahoney and Max Zitnay rounded off the podium slots in the 100 meter dash with times of 11.31 and 11.32,
Thomas Scalia finished fourth with a time of 11.38.
Elizardo Melenciano finished runner up in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.03.
Keith Townsend and
Elizardo Melenciano finished second and third in the 400 meter hurdles with times of 56.61 and 56.79.
Keith Townsend finished runner up in the high jump with a mark of 1.80 meters.
Evan Thevenot placed second in the long Jump with a jump of 6.62 meters,
Brian Gallagher was fourth with a mark of 6.40 meters.
Thevenot also finished second in the Triple Jump with a mark of 12.42 meters.
Grant Eastin and
Kyle Adams finished off the podium in the Shot Put with throws of 14.50 and 14.35 meters.
Eastin also finished second in the Hammer throw with a mark of 54.03 meters,
Jared Ptaszek and
Jude Ibarra notched third and fourth with throws of 52.40 and 49.38 meters.
Kyle Adams and
Brady Trask finished third and fourth in the Javelin event with throws of 44.48 and 42.47 meters.
