NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College softball team will play five games over the next three days, starting with the conclusion of the season-series with Saint Michael's College on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at Martone-Mejail Field in Northeast-10 Conference action. The game was originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon at noon, but was rescheduled for Tuesday due to inclement weather Sunday. The Warriors will then travel to Worcester, Mass. on Wednesday to open their season-series with Assumption, before returning home to make-up two games against Stonehill on Thursday that were postponed back on April 5.

Last Time Out:
  • The Warriors extended their winning streak to four games, with a sweep of Saint Michael's College on Saturday. Game one ended in the sixth, with an 8-0 final, before the Navy and Gold won the second game, 5-2. Senior Megan Cook pitched a pair of complete games for the second straight time to pick up her 15th and 16th wins of the season.
  • In game one, it was the bat of Cook knocked in a team-high three runs in the game.
  • The second game, it was junior Hannah Johnson that got the scoring going in the third inning, with a triple. Merrimack added a run in the fourth and two runs in the fifth, before the Purple Knights got within three in the sixth. 
'Mack Facts:
  • Merrimack enters with a 24-8 overall record and 11-5 in NE10 play. The Warriors are also 7-3 in divisional play and sit in second place in the Northeast Division.
  • Merrimack is currently receiving 29 votes towards the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Coaches poll.
  • Cook has 279 career strikeouts and is just 21 strikeouts from becoming the seventh Warrior to reach 300 career strikeouts.
  • Senior Alyssa Williamson has a team-best .441 batting average and has knocked in 19 runs. Junior Nicole Nanof leads the team with 22 RBI. Johnson has already doubled her single season high for most RBI in a season with 12.
Saint Michael's
  • The Warriors have won 10 straight games since the 2015 season against Saint Michael's.
  • The Purple Knights enter play with a 6-16 overall record and 3-9 in NE10 play.
  • Hayley Craddock leads the team in hitting with a .352 batting average, has seven doubles and has knocked in three runs. Torie Rathwell is second on the team in hitting 21 hits and five doubles, while knocking in eight runs. Danielle Markowski has a team-high 11 RBI.
  • In the circle, Danielle Brown has a 5-8 record and 12 complete games. She has 118 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.48. Her strikeout per seven innings leads all pitchers in the league at 9.14.
Assumption
  • The Warriors and Greyhounds open up their season series on Wednesday with a doubleheader. Merrimack is 9-5 in the last 14 meetings between the two programs. The teams also met in the 2016 NE10 First Round. Assumption is first in the Northeast Division (as of April 16) and enter with 12-9 overall record and 7-4 in NE10 play. The Greyhounds play two at Bentley on Tuesday.
  • Stephanie Menard has a .321 average in 21 games for Assumption. She also has eight RBI and 18 hits. Brooke Murphy is also hitting above .300, with a team-high 20 hits. Alyssa Beaton has knocked in 11 runs, which leads the team.
  • In the circle, Mia Nowicki is 5-4 with 10 starts and six complete games. She has 48 strikeouts and a 2.19 ERA. Kendal Roy is 6-5 for the Greyhounds, with a 2.58 ERA. She has fanned 56 batters, and has one save on the season.
Stonehill
  • The Warriors and Skyhawks will wrap up their season series Thursday. The games are a make-up from April 5. The first game will be a Northeast Divisional game, with game being a non-conference contest. Stonehill has three league games before Thursday's doubleheader, with a 7-20 record and are 6-11 in NE10 action.
  • Merrimack defeated Stonehill earlier this season back on April 11 in Easton. The Warriors won 9-4 in the opening game, before blanking the Skyhawks, 2-0, in the nightcap.
Up Next
The Warriors will head to Manchester, N.H. for a three-game series against Southern New Hampshire this weekend. The series begins with a twinbill on Saturday beginning at 12 p.m., before concluding Sunday with a single game at noon.
