SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Merrimack College men's track & field team had a strong meet at the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by American International College on Saturday afternoon.

Highlights
- Ryan Nesta won the 110m hurdles with a personal best time of 15:05 seconds.
- Trevor Ciempa had a first place finish in the high jump, with a leap of 1.85m in the cold breezy conditions that made the event difficult for all competitors.
- Freshman Travis Hunt threw his outdoor best and placed second in the shot put with a throw 13.34m. He also placed eighth in the hammer throw with a distance of 39.86m in only his second time competing in this event.
- Keith Steinbrecher continued to show his great form this season when he finished third in the 1500m race, with a personal best time of 4:00.80.
- In the 800m race, Connor Murphy surged strongly in the final lap passing most of the field to finish third overall with a time of 1:57.62.
- Christian Gentile finished fourth in the 5000m race, coming in with a time of 15:31.99.
- Patrick Whyte finished fourth in the high jump with a leap of 1.75m.
- Kevin Russo and Jake Fogarty finished sixth and seventh in the javelin throw with distances of 50.58m and 49.68m, respectively.
Up Next
The Warriors will be competing at two meets over a four-day span in Pennsylvania. They will begin competition on Thursday at the Mondshein Multi-Meet hosted by Kutztown University for a two-day event. The Warriors will then compete for a two-day meet at Moravian College on Friday and Saturday.
