Megan Cook earned Third-Team All-American honors by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), as announced Wednesday night at the banquet. She became the first Warrior to receive the honor since the 2012-13 season.
Cook, who concluded her Warrior career following the 2018 season, had her best season in the circle. She set a new program record for strikeouts in a single season with 188. She had a career-high 25 wins, 29 complete games, a 1.39 ERA, and 12 shutouts in 231.1 innings of work. The 2018 Northeast-10 Conference Pitcher of the Year led the league in wins, starts, appearances, complete games, shutouts, and innings pitched. Cook also earned D2CCA Honorable Mention and All-East Pitcher of the Year honors, All-Conference First-Team recognition, and an NFCA All-East Region First Team selection.
The Bellingham, Massachusetts native concluded her career with 43 wins, 16 shutouts, six saves, 46 complete games, and a 2.07 ERA. Her 359 career strikeouts and 481 innings pitched also were sixth in the programs all-time record books.
