NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Coming off a win against American International College on Saturday, the Warriors prepare to play Stonehill College in their fourth Northeast-10 Conference contest of the season Wednesday, September 24th.

Last Time Out:
  • Merrimack was tested early by the Yellow Jackets, as both teams couldn't break down the defense for the majority of the first half. Only five shots total between the two, with one save apiece made by each goalkeeper.
  • As close of a game the first 45 minutes happened to be, it showed on the aggressive side of the game as well; 20 whistles were blown, with 10 fouls going to each team.
  • The Warriors made adjustments at the half, and it began to pay off. In the second half, they tripled their shot tally, and put four on goal.
  • AIC returned the favor, especially in the opening 10 minutes of the second half. Senior Tyler Packett had to make three saves early, but was relieved when the Merrimack offense came alive.
  • The stalemate was broken in the 71st minute, when freshman Tola Showunmi snuffed out his third goal of the season. A bending ball in by senior Lars Sund was placed perfectly onto the head of Showunmi, who popped it in for the 1-0 lead.
  • Merrimack locked down defensively, allowing just three shots in the final 20 minutes.
Mack Facts:
  • Merrimack has outscored opponents 12-3 thus far this season and are averaging 2 goals per game.
  • Senior Tyler Packett's 0.50 goals-against average is good for second-best in the NE10.
