NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The Merrimack College men's cross country program had a strong afternoon at the Central Connecticut State University mini meet on Friday.
Competing in an abbreviated 5k race,
TJ Corliss finished with a new school record for the 5k event, as the team earned better finishes than five Division I teams.

Chris Cameron: "The men had a good effort today, we had a lot of PRs in both the varsity race and and the sub-varsity race. We're looking forward to conference next weekend, this was a good sign, we just need to work on tightening up the pack and we should be all set."
How It Happened:
- Corliss finished in 20th overall with a time of 15:22, and was Merrimack's top runner of the day.
- Junior Gunnar Hasselquist came in behind Corliss, taking the 5k in 15:23 for a 23rd place finish and second best mark for Merrimack.
- Noah Davis earned the team's third highest finish, crossing at 15:40 for an overall finish in 40th place.
