PHILADELPHIA, P.A.– In an always star studded ITA Championship's, the Merrimack College men's tennis team was led by standout,
Jan Semerak. The sophomore fought his way to the first ever program win in this yearly tournament.

- The tournament started with sophomore, Aryaan Bhatia, battled against Hofstra's Shawn Jackson. Bhatia and Jackson fought tooth and nail throughout the entire match, but in the end, Jackson won the match by scores of 7-6 (4) and 7-5.
- Next up, Jonathan Garcia took on Shervin Dehmoubed of Yale. The upperclassmen started hot, but then was taken down by the bulldog's Dehmoubed 6-1, 6-4.
- In the doubles bracket, Merrimack took an unfortunate step back against some good competition. Garcia and fellow senior, Alec Mackay Rodriguez, competed against Sam Feldman and Brian Chong of Brown. The doubles contest ended with the bears taking it 8-2.
- Following up the match against Brown, the duo of Bhatia and Semerak took on the combo of Jackson and Bo Cautaerts of Hofstra. The pride's doubles pairing came out on top and toppled the warriors by scores of 6-2 and 6-0.
- Finally, back to singles play, Semerak was the shining star for Merrimack. In his first match against Manuel Alonzo of Niagara, Semerak took the challenge head on. The Teplice nad Metuji, Czech Republic, native won in convincing fashion as he won by scores of 6-2 and 6-0.
- The sophomore, took a huge victory in the first match and took his successes to the second as he took on Carlos Guerrero Alvarez of Dartmouth. Semerak grinded his way through the first set, but eventually fell to the Big Green's top man 7-6(6), 6-3.
