Women’s Golf Puts Together Exceptional Two Days to Win Stonehill Invitational

RESULTS

DORSET FIELD, Vt. – Led by all-tournament team performances from Jacquelyn Stiles, Yiting Pan and Prakruthi Sastry, the Merrimack College women's golf team dominated the field the past two days at the Stonehill Invitational at Dorset Field Club and claimed a 52-shot team victory.

The Warriors jumped out to a 32-shot lead in the opening round Sunday, thanks to a dazzling +2 round of 72 from Stiles that put her alone in second place in the tournament. She had six birdies during the round, including back-to-back ones to start the day and four in her first seven holes. Pan was just two shots off Stiles' pace Sunday thanks to a 74 that included a final 11 holes where she played to one under par.

Merrimack had a final day total of 313 to finish at 614. At a final team mark of +54, the Warriors nearly defeated second place Assumption (+106) by double the amount they were over par.
