Buchholz Named NEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year

SOMERSET, N.J. – Women's soccer senior Grace Buchholz was named a Northeast Conference (NEC) Scholar-Athlete of the Year after her academic successes, as announced by the conference on Monday.

Buchholz graduated with a degree in business administration and a minor in Spanish, finishing her academic career with a 4.0 GPA. The Skaneateles, New York native competed in 13 games as a Warrior, having her appearances limited by injury. She competed in 39 minutes in a match against New Hampshire on Feb. 25, 2021, and had her career high 49 minutes against Stonehill in 2018.

Buchholz is a co-recipient with Saint Francis University's Shannon Cody, a cross country and track and field athlete who also finished the year with a 4.0 GPA.

The women's soccer program ended the 2020-21 academic year with a combined team 3.653 GPA, as 27 student-athletes were named to the NEC Honor Roll with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher, with 13 being named to the commissioner's honor roll, where student-athletes must have compiled a 3.75 GPA or higher.
