BEVERLY, Mass. – The Merrimack College men's tennis team took on the Long Island University Sharks in their second contest of the weekend from Bass River Tennis Club. The Warriors played dominant in their first contest against Mount St. Mary's, but ran out of steam today as the Sharks came out on top 5-2.
Sophomore,
Jan Semerak, had yet another impressive outing for the Warriors as he won both the matches he was involved in this evening. Semerak and doubles partner,
Jonathan Garcia, have put together quite the run of performances as of late. Since the pairing has been put together this spring, they have yet to lose, going an impressive 3-0 together the past three matches.

Rapid Recap
- In what seems to be a somewhat common theme early in the spring season, doubles saw the Warriors have great success against their opponent. In doubles #1 Garcia and Semerak took the court and saw the match go back and forth as things ended up tied at 4-4. The duo then hunkered down and didn't give up another point on their way to a 4-6 win. Doubles #2 saw freshman, Keita Duclos, and senior Conrad Koch, jump into action and they did not disappoint. The Warrior combo dominated the match winning in conclusive fashion by a 6-3 tally to win the doubles point.
- On the contrary to doubles, singles play did not bode very well for Merrimack. Singles #1 had Semerak trot onto the court and do what he does best and the Teplice nad Metuji, Czech Republic native won in short order by scores of 6-2 and 6-1. Unfortunately though, the Sharks took the remaining of the contests to eventually win this one 5-2.
