NASHUA, N.H. – Thanks to five birdies on the day,
Jacquelyn Stiles notched the top score for the Merrimack College women's golf team Sunday afternoon at Nashua Country Club in a 312-312 team score tie against Franklin Pierce.
Stiles birdied the third, fifth, seventh, 16th and 17th holes, as she climbed back after she began her round with a double bogey. It marked best 18-hole round of the spring for the junior, as the Warriors continue to build towards the upcoming NEC Championship in a little over a week's time. The 74 gave Stiles the second-best total of the day individually.
Classmate,
Alexandra Tomasso, got off to a blazing start on the day with eight consecutive pars to open her round. She had a few bogeys on the back side, but was still able to card a 78 for second sub-80 round since the turn of the calendar.
