DOVER, DEL. – The Merrimack College football team got back into the win column on Saturday afternoon with a 26-13 victory over Delaware State University.

Victor Dawson and
Tyvon Edmonds Jr. added scores of their own to add 14 points to the Merrimack total.
Myles Taylor led the team in tackles with five on the afternoon.
Brandon Roberts added two sacks to his season total. The Warriors had five total sacks in the victory.

How It Happened
- On their second offensive possession Dawson found a hole and scored up the middle, giving Merrimack a one score lead. After a defensive stop that ended in four plays, the Warriors got the ball back. On the first play from scrimmage, Carter found Mason on a fake end around for put the road team up by two touchdowns. The Warrior defense forced another four and out, giving their offense the ball back heading into the second quarter. After a long drive, the Hornets added a field goal to get on the board. Both teams battled until the halftime buzzer, not letting either score any more points. Merrimack found themselves up 11 heading into halftime.
- Delaware State knocked down a field goal on their first possession of the second half, making the Warrior advantage eight. Edmonds Jr. found a one in the Hornet defense and scored on a 10-yard run, putting Merrimack up 21-6. The score was his first of the season. On the next defensive possession Garry Rosemond Jr. tackled the Delaware State quarterback in the endzone for a safety. The Hornets scored their first touchdown of the game three minutes into the fourth quarter to go down by 10. A field goal by Lliam Davis on the next offensive possession for Merrimack gave them a 13-point advantage. Two big stops by the Warrior defense in the final five minutes of the game gave Merrimack the victory.
