ANDOVER, MASS. – The Merrimack College baseball team lost its first of two games against the University of Massachusetts Lowell on Tuesday afternoon.

● The Riverhawks struck first in the top of the first, scoring one run. Mass Lowell then scored again in the top of the third twice to take a three run advantage.
Samuel Sherman broke the scoring drought with a single to right in the fifth, scoring a run for the Warriors. In the seventh,
Christian Gemelli grounded out to second with the bases loaded, cutting the lead to one.
Michael Golankiewicz launched a single in the seventh. scoring two and giving Merrimack its first lead of the afternoon. Up one,
Stephen Santarpia doubled to center, scoring two runs. The Warriors were now up by three. The River Hawks battled back in the ninth, scoring four runs, which was good enough to win the game by one.
