STATEN ISLAND, NY – The Merrimack College Women's Basketball team snagged their second straight NEC win this time on th road over Wagner College.

This matchup started slow to say the least. Merrimack was down early as both teams struggled to shoot the ball. Merrimack scored their first two points five minutes into the first quarter and wouldn't score another bucket until the 3:04 mark in the first period. Merrimack would finish the quarter going on a 13 to four run to lead 13 to 8 heading into the second quarter. The second quarter is when the Warriors really stepped on the gas. They padded their lead to the tune of outscoring the Seahawks 15 to 8 heading into the half up 28 to 16.
The third quarter saw the Warriors extend their lead even further, going on a nine to two run to start the second half and ultimately finishing the quarter up 20 points at 49 to 29. The final frame, the Warriors continued their dominance as Thalia Shepard, and Kiki Thomas among others continued to add to their great totals on the day, giving the kids of Staten Island a show and closing out the Seahawks, 72 to 45 to win their second NEC game in a row.
