The Warriors and Michigan State would kick off the Swig and Swine Classic and the game was full of action early on. The Spartans took the first lead at 1-0 before a two home run 3rd inning from the Warriors.
Christian Scanlon would blast a 2 run shot and two at bats later it would be
Braydon Dolbashian adding a solo shot of his own to give Merrimack a 3-1 lead. The Warriors pitching kept it close for most of the game as Michigan State drove in a few more runs and regained a one run lead at 4-3. The game would stay at the score until the top of the ninth when the Warriors rotation and defense struggled. The Spartans would score six runs and take a commanding 10-3 before shutting the door entirely on the Warriors in the bottom half of the inning.
