Greensboro, N.C.—Merrimack Softball won their final game in the UNC-Greensboro Invitational picking up a 3-0 win on Sunday morning, thanks to great perfromances by
Madie Fornwalt and
Courtney Lanpher.
Getting another strong pitching performance from
Madie Fornwalt, the game was scoreless for the first four and a half innings before
Thiana Brito would score on a wild pitch after hits from
Madeline Arvai and
Gabby Kaduson. The Warriors would add two more runs in the sixth as
Alex Miller led off with a single and would score on a two run homer by
Courtney Lanpher one batter later.
With the Minutewomen threatening to tie the game, Fornwalt slammed the door to collect the complete game shutout.
