Bridgeport, NY— Merrimack Forward
Alex Jefferies has signed an amateur tryout (ATO), with the Bridgeport Islanders announced by the team on Tuesday.
Jefferies, a senior from Lunenburg, Massachusetts was drafted by the New York Islanders in the fourth round of the 2020 NHL entry draft recently completed his senior season at Merrimack, and he held the team lead in goals with 13 to along with 10 assists for 23 points earned over 22 games played. Jefferies played 105 games in a Warriors uniform, notching 97 points (41 goals and 56 assists). Also at Merrimack, Jefferies was two-time Hockey East Player of The Month (December '22 and November '23), he was also named to the Hockey East All-Star First team last season, as well as being apart of the AHCA All American Second Team and he was also the first Warrior since Stéphane Da Costa in 2010-11 to hit 40+ points in a Merrimack uniform.
Alex will look to make his professional debut in Bridgeport's next coming games against Utica on March 22
