Amesbury, Mass.— The Merrimack College women's and men's hockey teams had an another fantastic showing on the Hockey East All-Academic teams, as both Warrior teams combined for 50 selections and 8 student-athletes were named to the Academic All-Star team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday
On the women's side, 24 student-athletes were named All-Academic members after they earned a 3.0 GPA or better in both semesters from the 2024-25 academic year.
15 members are multiple time members of the list, with
Hayley Chang earning Distinguished Scholar status (3.0 in each semester of four varsity seasons) while
Natalie Nemes and
Raice Szott are two of seven players in conference to be five time honorees on the list.
Sage Babey,
Rachel Bjorgan,
Gabi Jones,
Hayley Chang and
Maria Lindberg were the five Merrimack players to be named to the 2024-25 Hockey East All-Academic All-Star Team and Top Scholar status.
For the men, 26 student-athletes were named All-Academic members after they earned a 3.0 GPA or better in both semesters from the 2024-25 academic year. Seven players for the Warriors are multiple time honorees, and
Mark Hillier is the lone Warrior to receive distinguished scholar status.
Ryan Keyes,
Max Wattvil and
Luke Weilandt were the three Warriors to be named to the 2024-25 Hockey East All-Academic All-Star Team and Top Scholar status.
