Amesbury, Mass.— The Merrimack College women's and men's hockey teams had an outstanding showing on the Hockey East All-Academic teams, as the Warrior programs combined for 49 selections and 14 student-athletes were named to the Academic All-Star team, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
On the women's side, 28 student-athletes were named All-Academic members after they earned a 3.0 GPA or better in both semesters from the 2022-23 academic year.
18 members are multiple time members of the lists while
Allison Reeb,
Raice Szott and
Celine Tedenby earned Distinguished Scholar status while
Mary Edmonds,
Allison Reeb are two of 12 five-time honorees of the list.
Sophia Hausberger,
Hayley Chang,
Solveig Gisler,
Sydney Lynch,
Mary Edmonds,
Alex Ferguson,
Maria Lindberg,
Ally Qualley and
Allison Reeb all were apart of the 2023-24 Hockey East All-Academic All-Star Team, indictive of top scholar status in Hockey East.
For the men, 21 players earned All-Academic team selections, 11 of them were members for multiple seasons and
Ben Brar,
Filip Forsmark and
Mac Welsher all are five-time honorees the most on a single team in the conference. Brar, Dennison,
Mark Gallant,
Chase Stevenson,
Max Wattvil and
Luke Weilandt also are members of the 2023-24 Hockey East All-Academic All-Star Team, indictive of top scholar status in Hockey East, also the most of any team in the Hockey East.
