BOSTON, MA The Merrimack Men's Indoor Track and Field team competed in the Flagship Invitational hosted by UMass Amherst at the TRACK at New Balance on Sunday.
How it Happened
- Tyler Fortune produced a personal best 60m dash time of 7.01 for a third place finish.
- In the men's mile, Sean Moore finished 11th across a field of 29 athletes with a time of 4:19.10.
- Owen Schultz and Luke Llewellyn competed in the men's 1000m, with Schultz finishing 17th in 2:32.88 and Llewellyn placing 21st in 2:34.60.
- In the men's 200, Carson Mighty earned a top-15 finish with his time of 22.61.
- Merrimack also found success in the field with Evan Thevenot finishing second in the men's triple jump with a mark of 13.97m (45' 10").
- Jared Ptaszek produced a top-5 finish in the men's weight throw, tossing for 15.92m (52" 2 ¾").
- Maxim Lussier clinched eighth in men's pole vault by clearing 4.40m (14' 5 ¼")
- In the men's long jump, Thevenot jumped 6.40m (21' 0") for 11th with teammate Brian Gallagher right behind (6.36m) (20' 10 ½").
- Owen LaRoss finished 14th in shot put with a mark of 12.03m (39' 5 ¾")
