FAIRFIELD, C.T. - The Merrimack College Women's Basketball team came up short this Sunday against the Stags 84-65, but saw team leading performances from Lydia Melaschenko, Mia Fiore, and Oralye Kiefer.
Senior guard Melaschenko paced the Warriors with 13 points, shooting 50% from the field. Her third straight double digit point game came with three rebounds and a steal.
Mia Fiore followed with 12 points on the day to go along with five rebounds. Fiore tallied her eighth game this season with double figures.
Oralye Kiefer stayed hot for the Warriors scoring 11 and tallying her fourth straight double digit point game. Kiefer shot 50% from the field and came a rebound shy of a double double for her second straight game. Three blocked shots on the day brought her December total up to 10.
Paloma Garcia came down with eight rebounds in the game to go along with nine points. She led the team in steals with three and had one block.
The Warriors take a break for eight days before heading back home to North Andover for a matchup against MAAC opponent Mount St. Mary's. Tip off against the Mountaineers is set for 2 P.M. at Lawler Arena.
