Men's Volleyball Victorious Against Wentworth

NORTH ANDOVER, MA- The Merrimack men's volleyball team was victorious against the Wentworth Leopards, winning 3-0 on the evening of February 22nd.

How it Happened 

The first set started with thunderous points from both sides with each team trading tallies. Each of the Merrimack starters would be involved in getting a point for the Warriors. Kai Vogel would go on a run and secure a bunch of kills for the Warriors. The blue and gold would catch fire with the game tied at 20 late in the set. More kills and service aces from Kai Vogel as well as a kill from Logan Whitaker would give the Warriors the advantage. A service ace from Davis McCurdy would propel the Warriors to claim set 1, 25-21.


The second set saw both teams trading scores in the early goings once again. Kills from Kai Vogel, Ephraim Abhulime, and Logan Whitaker would keep the Warriors in the game. Chris U'Glay would get involved towards the middle of the set and provide the blue and gold with some much needed points. The Warriors would go up 17-11 halfway through the set with some momentum from a few key plays. Kills from Ephraim Abhulime and Kai Vogel would push the Warriors to claim set 2, 25-20.

The third set started with the teams trading points once again. The Warriors would catch fire in the first half of the set and roll with their newfound momentum. Service aces from Chris U'Glay and Kai Vogel and kills from Ephraim Abhulime and Logan Whitaker would give the Warriors the energy to continue their surge. This would cause Wentworth to call a timeout. The Warriors would keep the good vibes rolling with a string of points from Kai Vogel. It would be a kill from John Clinton and a Wentworth service error that would be the deciding points at the end of the set, giving Merrimack the match victory.
