SPARKILL, NY– The Merrimack College men's volleyball team picked up their second consecutive sweep as they overtook the Spartans in three straight sets on Friday evening.

How It Happened
Kai Vogel opened scoring for the Warriors with a thunderous kill, but both teams remained neck-and-neck for the first seven points. The Warriors capitalized off a slew of Spartan errors and
Nick Tidik delivered a kill to top off the 3-0 run to give the Warriors a two-point advantage. From there
Reece Lindstrom paced all Warriors setting up two kills and firing one of his own to make it 17-12. St. Thomas Aquinas would drive a 3-1 run to cut the deficit to three however, the Warriors remained persistent as
Logan Whitaker and
Isaiah Vogel delivered the final kills of the set to win 25-21. In the second set, Merrimack caught the early advantage, however, a 3-1 Spartan burst tied the set at five. Both teams traded points until
Nick Tidik kickstarted a massive 4-0 run to give Merrimack a comfortable advantage. The Lindstrom, Vogel, and Whitaker tandem knocked down the Warriors final three points to win set two by a score of 25-19. In the third and final set of the match,
Kai Vogel notched three consecutive kills to give the Warriors the early advantage. A few blue and gold attack errors would allow St. Thomas the equalizer. The Warriors were able to knock down five consecutive points with
Kai Vogel at the line serving. St. Thomas would deliver two more kills however, two service errors would allow the Warriors the third set win, 25-16.
