FAIRFAX, VA- the Merrimack men's volleyball team had their winning streak halted by the George Mason Patriots despite a hard-fought battle on Saturday, March 15th.

How it Happened
The Warriors would get off on the right foot in the first set, keeping pace with the Patriots. Logan Whitaker would get three kills in a row to add to the total for the blue and gold. Ephraim Abhulime and the dynamic duo of Kai Vogel and Isaiah Vogel would provide some offensive firepower to keep the Warriors in the game. Merrimack would find themselves at match point, but they came all the way back to be one point away from the Patriots at the end of set 1. Nick Tidik would help get them there with some points of his own. Despite the valiant comeback attempt, the Warriors just barely lost set 1 by a score of 25-23.
Kai Vogel would start set 2 red hot as he got a number of kills to begin the frame. Ephraim Abhulime and Isaiah Vogel would add some points of their own throughout the set, allowing for the Warriors to match the Patriots. Logan Whitaker would heat up in the middle of the set, getting consecutive kills in a row to keep the Warriors in the match. This set was truly a back and forth battle the whole way. However, George Mason would surge ahead and win the set by a score of 25-21.
The Warriors came right out of the gate in set 3, going up 4-1 early. Kai Vogel and Logan Whitaker had a slew of kills that pushed the blue and gold ahead. Nick Tidik would get involved shortly after, providing a consecutive number of spikes to add to the Warrior's tally. Ephraim Abhulime would join in the fray, adding points of his own. Kai Vogel would add a service ace towards the end of the set. However, despite a great effort from the Warriors, they lost set 3 by a score of 25-21.
