Men's Volleyball Cruises to Victory Over Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA- The Merrimack men's volleyball team was victorious against the Springfield College Pride on the evening of April 9th.

How it Happened

The first set saw almost every Warrior get involved in the early goings. Logan Whitaker and Kai Vogel scored most frequently in this frame, helping the blue and gold stay ahead. The Warriors had a steady lead throughout the set and never trailed. The dynamic duo of Kai Vogel and Isaiah Vogel were the difference makers late in the set. They and Ephraim Abhulime had kills later on to build on Merrimack's lead. This momentum would propel the blue and gold to a set 1 victory by a score of 25-21.

The second set saw the Warriors start with a deficit. However, they were able to bounce back and take the lead. This set saw Kasen Owens catch fire and get a bunch of kills in a row. Nick Tidik and Nathan Knapp would also get on the board and contribute to the Warrior's point total. Kai Vogel would be the difference maker late in the set as he got a service ace and the kill that won Merrimack the round. The Warriors won set 2 by a score of 25-23.

The Warriors would drop set 3, but were able to bounce back in set 4. Kasen Owen caught fire again and tallied a slew of kills for the Warriors. Nick Tidik and Logan Whitaker would join in the fray to add to the Warrior's point total. Nathan Knapp had a clutch service ace late in the frame that helped the Warriors keep their lead. Ephraim Abhulime would tally two kills in a row late in the set to break the tie and help the Warriors surge ahead. It would be Kai Vogel getting the kill that won the Warriors the set and the match. Merrimack won set 4 by a score of 25-23.
