Men’s Hockey Wins Their Fourth in a Row

Providence, RI — The Merrimack Men's Hockey team picked up their fourth win in a row as they toughed out a 3-2 road victory over the Brown University Bears on Saturday night.

After going behind in the opening minute, Justin Gill marked his return to the lineup with his sixth goal of the season to tie the score 1-1, which would hold for the remainder of the period.

After Brown scored the opening goal of the second, it would be Ty Daneault who would take advantage of a sloppy pass in the defensive end, before streaking in on a breakaway that he would finish for his second goal of year to get Merrimack back on level terms (2-2) for the second time in the game.

With the game hanging in the balance, Nick Pierre picked up the rebound on the initial shot from Trevor Hoskin before lasering the puck over the glove side of the goaltender for his team leading 10th goal of the season, it's also his first double digit goal campaign.

With the lead secured, Max Lundgren would make the final of his 29 saves in the closing seconds to preserve a 3-2 Merrimack victory.

The Warriors play again next Saturday, January 10th as they head to Worcester to face the College of the Holy Cross Crusaders at 7:00 p.m.
