NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. - Madison Roman and Lydia Melaschenko propelled the Merrimack Women's Basketball team to a 69-47 victory over Sacred Heart at Lawler Arena on Thursday night.
"I thought we did a better job on the boards in the second half," Merrimack head coach Kelly Morrone said. "We knew it was gonna be this type of game. This crowd was awesome, I love having the students along the baseline."
Melaschenko finished with a game-high 22 points (6-for-14 from three-point range) and led the team in steals (two). She now has scored 20 or more points in three of her last five games.
Roman scored 21 points (6-for-9 from the field) with eight rebounds and three assists, notching double figures in 12 consecutive games.
Paloma Garcia chipped in 10 points (5-for-6 from the field) with four rebounds and two assists. Garcia has scored in double-digits three straight games.
The Warriors return to action when they host Rider University on Saturday at 12 p.m. ET.
