NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY -
Strahinja Djukic won at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles as the Merrimack men's tennis team defeated Niagara 6-1 on Sunday.
Djukic teamed with
Tom Van Nooten to win at No. 2 doubles, 6-4, and took his singles match 6-2, 7-5. Juan Carlos Portilla won at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 7-5 and teamed with Troy Pleasant to win 6-4 at No. 3 doubles. Pleasant also took a singles win at No. 5, winning 6-3, 7-5.
Ludolph Wiggett won 6-1, 7-5 at No. 3 singles and Milan Zubovic won 6-4. 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
"That's a big time conference win for the guys," Merrimack head coach Cory Erikson said. "These long trips can be difficult. Was very proud of the team energy displayed on the road."
The Warriors return to action next Saturday at Tufts at 7 p.m.
