EMMITSBURG, MD -- Merrimack senior
Grant Eastin concluded the MAAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships as a double-winner and propelled the Warriors to a fifth-place finish following the two-day event at Mount St. Mary's.Â
Eastin claimed crowns in the shot put (15.37 meters) and hammer throw (57.95 meters) in addition to finishing fifth in the discus. Eastin was named the Most Outstanding Performer-Field Events and received recognition as the Most Valuable Performer across the men's meet.
Other impressive finishes came courtesy of
Elizardo Melenciano, who finished second in the 110-meter hurdles (14.43 seconds) and
Keith Townsend, who was the runner-up in the 400 meter hurdle (54.58).
Merrimack's 4x100 relay team of
Manny Mahoney,
Max Zitney,
Jadis Yarbrough and
Thomas Scalia combined for a second-place finish (41.61), as well.

Owen LaRoss finished fourth in the discus while
Hunter Schobel andÂ
Evan Thevenot each reached the finals in the triple jump and placed fourth and sixth, respectively.Â
Thomas Scalia finished fifth in the 100-meter dash and eighth in the 200 whileÂ
Gab Qureshi placed seventh in the 400.Â
Merrimack had four athletes finish in the top eight of the hammer throw with
Jared Ptaszek,
Jude Ibarra and
William Bierden finishing fourth, seventh and eighth, respectively.Â

The relay team of
Elizardo Melenciano,
Keith Townsend,
Maddox Merlo and
Gab Qureshi took fourth in the 4x400.
