Men's Track and Field Ends Day One Of MAAC Championships in Third Place

EMMITSBURG, MD—Merrimack Men's Track and Field team ended day one of the MAAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships in third place on 21 points and several athletes qualified for final events on day two tomorrow.
 
Grant Eastin won the hammer throw event with a throw of 57.95 meters, Jude Ibarra picked up five points in the same event with a mark of 52.83 meters and Jude Ibarra and Will Bierden finished seventh and eighth with marks of 51.00 and 49.61 meters.
 
Aidan Dupill finished sixth in the 10,000 meter final with a time of 32:16.70
 
Elizardo Melenciano won his 110 meter hurdles event with a time of 14.66, qualifying for the final.
 
Gab Qureshi qualified for the 400 meter event tomorrow with a time of 48.60.
 
Keith Townsend qualified for the 400 meter final with a time of 54.49.
 
Thomas Scalia qualified for the 100 meter and 200 meter finals tomorrow with a times of 10.96 and 21.93.
