ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The top-seeded Merrimack Warriors will take the floor against No. 9 Sacred Heart in the quarterfinal round of MAAC Men's Basketball Championships at Boardwalk Hall on Friday night.
The Warriors (21-10, 17-3 in MAAC) received a first-round bye after they won the regular-season title behind Coach of the Year Joe Gallo, Player of the Year Kevair Kennedy and a tenacious effort on the defensive end. The Pioneers defeated No. 8 Iona in their first-round matchup Thursday night.
"No added pressure or anything like that," Gallo said before traveling to Atlantic City. "Just kind of business as usual."
