Softball's Nine Run Seventh Salvages Split With St. Peters

JERSEY CITY, NJ-- Merrimack Softball earned a split with St. Peter's on Saturday afternoon, after a nine run comeback in the seventh inning of game one.

Trailing by three in the top of the seventh, the Warriors offense exploded, as Dejah Rondeau scored on a fielders choice, Abby Choquette cut the lead to one with an RBI single, and Alex Miller tied the score with an infield hit.

With the score tied and the bases loaded, Madeline Arvai doubled into left, scoring all three runners on to give Merrimack the lead. Caity Lemay and Emma Prahin would add three more runs as insurance before the side was retired, in an inning that saw 13 batters come to the plate and nine runs scored.

Anna Gedacht would get the complete game three outs later, picking up her fifth win of the season.

In game two, MacKenzie Paulin would pitch 5.2 innings, striking out four.

The Warriors look for the series win tomorrow when they face St. Peter's at 1 PM.
