NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. -- Merrimack junior captain
Mia Juvelier on Friday was honored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference when named an All-MAAC First-Team selection following the women's lacrosse season.Â
The Warrior defender earned an at-large/specialist bid after securing 144 draw controls over the course of the 17-game season, leading the conference in draw controls per game.
"I'm incredibly proud of Mia for earning All-MAAC First Team Specialist," Merrimack head coach
Jen Fox Sargent said. "This is such a well-deserved recognition of her hard work and dedication. While this honor highlights her individual achievement, it's also a reflection of the entire draw unit, whose effort and chemistry played a huge role in her success. This is an exciting day for our program, as it marks the first time we've had a player earn All-MAAC recognition, and it speaks volumes about the direction we're heading."
Juvelier recorded a career-high 16 draw controls against Radford, 14 against Quinnipiac and 10 against each Siena and Sacred Heart.Â
