HAVERHILL, Mass. – June Doerr earned medalist honors and helped propel the Merrimack College women's golf team to a second-place finish at the Warrior Invitational at Haverhill Country Club on Tuesday.
Erika Redmond and Doerr each had an impressive final round for the Warriors, who combined to shoot a mere 2-over as a team during the 18-hole stretch Tuesday.
The Boston University Terriers finished the three-round tournament in first place (38-over par) after edging the host Warriors (44-over par) during the two days.
Doerr finished first in the tournament after she concluded the three-day stretch a mere 3-over, which was four strokes better than the tournament's second-place finisher. Doerr carded a 5-under par 67 on the final round Tuesday, a product of seven birdies. She birdied three of the four par-3s at Haverhill Country Club on Tuesday.
Redmond finished third in the tournament after she scored an 8-over par over the course of two days. Redmond was 3-over during her final two rounds, including a 2-over 74 on Tuesday.
Olivia Williams finished tied for 11th in the tournament. Williams also was in the red on Tuesday as she finished with a 1-under par with four birdies.
Redlichlein Hanslkie and Mya Murphy both shot 6-over 78 on Tuesday. Hanslkie and Murphy finished 20th and 27th, respectively.
The Warriors return to action when they travel to Stonehill for The Hill tournament on Sept. 28.
