NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's tennis team begins play in the program's fifth straight Northeast-10 Conference Championship on Wednesday afternoon when the sixth-seeded Warriors take on the third-seeded Southern New Hampshire Penmen in the opening round. Due to rain expected in the forecast throughout the day, the contest will be played indoors at the YMCA Allard Center in Goffstown, N.H.

2017 Recap:
- Merrimack earned a postseason berth as the No. 6 seed in the NE10, the final program to qualify for the postseason tournament
- The Warriors' head-to-head victory over Bentley – which occurred in the second match of the regular season – enabled the Navy and Gold to win the tiebreaker with the Falcons and reach the postseason
- The Warriors picked up victories over Saint Michael's, AIC, New Haven, Franklin Pierce, Saint Rose and Saint Anselm in addition to Bentley
- In the program's regular-season game against Southern New Hampshire, the Penmen prevailed by an 8-1 final. The score was a bit deceptive, as four of the six singles matches went three sets
Mack Facts:
- The Warriors employed a balanced singles lineup, with six players recording at least six victories in the regular season
- Senior captain Mackenzie Blair (Thomaston, Conn.)¸sophomore Mia Briggs (York, Maine) and freshman Cassie Restrepo (Miami, Fla.) tied for the team lead with 7-4 NE10 singles records
- Blair and junior Lauren Persson (Barnstable, Mass.) led Merrimack in the doubles venue, winning five of seven NE10 matches as a duo. Blair posted a team-best 8-3 NE10 record overall in doubles
- Junior Mana Seifaei (North York, Ontario) and senior Danielle Dunn (Middleton, Mass.) ended the year as Merrimack's top doubles pairing. Seifaei registered 12 combined wins in the regular season, while Dunn notched nine
