PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Merrimack College women's rowing program brought its Varsity Fours crew to the Dad Vail Regatta on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia this weekend, taking home a second-place finish in Women's Varsity Fours (Division II & III) on Saturday morning. The Warriors won their qualifying heat on Friday by over seven seconds on Friday to reach the final.

How It Happened
- In the qualifier on Friday afternoon, the Warriors bested nationally ranked boats from No. 2 Central Oklahoma and No. 5 Barry University to reach the final
- The Navy and Gold crossed the finish line more the seven seconds ahead of Central Oklahoma's crew, which finished in second place
- In Saturday's final, the Warriors went toe-to-toe with fourth-ranked Humboldt State University for the title. Humboldt's boat edged Merrimack by 1.6 seconds for the title. The Warriors were seven seconds faster by the third-place finisher, Marietta
- Merrimack's final began at 8:00 this morning, which proved beneficial because the rest of the Dad Vail was cancelled at 11:00 due to the weather
