Score: Merrimack 3,
Saint Rose, 2
Records: Merrimack (8-2-0) | Saint Rose (6-3-1)
Location: Martone-Mejail Field |North Andover, Mass.

How it Happened
  • The Warriors fought tooth-and-nail with the Golden Knights through the first 45 minutes, with little to no scoring opportunities for either side. Just five shots combined between both teams was a result of great play between the middle third of the field.
  • Merrimack got on the scoreboard just three minutes in to the second half. A set piece from 22 yards out off the foot of sophomore Filippo Begliardi Ghidini and snuck through the wall for the goal.
  • In the 52nd minute, junior Sebastian Toro got in on the action. After a ball fed in from Begliardi Ghidini opened up a lane for Toro, the shot from the right side was on frame, but took a deflection before bouncing in.
  • The lead tripled ten minutes later. Senior Lars Sund took a 35 yard set piece and curled it inside the box; senior Sam King flicked a back pass to junior Mirko Nufi, who finished off the passwith an easy head in.
  • Saint Rose made it interesting just inside 20 minutes. A deep ball into the six found Victor Goncalves-Rocha, who buried it into the right side of the netting.
  • The Golden Knights pulled within one in the 82nd minute. Ensuing a corner, a ball crossed into the six was headed in by Jaako Terasranta.
