NEW LONDON, CONN. – Facing a 4-4 deadlock with just one singles match remaining, freshman
Cassie Restrepo rallied to win fourth singles in three sets, 4-6, 6-2 and 7-5, to give the Merrimack College women's tennis program a 5-4 road victory over Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon. The contest marked the first of four spring matches this month for the Navy and Gold.

- Merrimack won two of three doubles matches, which proved crucial later in the match. Sophomore Mia Briggs and Restrepo won their eighth match as a pairing, 8-3, at second doubles. Junior Lauren Persson and senior Mackenzie Blair won at the third flight, 8-4, to guarantee an advantage entering singles
- Junior Mana Seifaei and senior Danielle Dunn debuted as Merrimack's top pair this spring, dropping No. 1 doubles by six games (8-2)
Rapid Recap (Singles)
- Connecticut College won two-set matches at first, fifth and sixth singles to get back into the match. Dunn won Merrimack's first singles point of the afternoon (6-3, 7-6), prevailing at No. 3
- The Warriors triumphed in both three-set tilts to win the match. Persson won the first to finish, prevailing in the first and third sets at second singles (6-1, 2-6, 7-5) to move the visitors within a point of the match
- Restrepo faltered in the first frame, 6-4, at the fourth flight, but the rookie recovered. The Miami, Fla. native won the second set, 6-2, to even the match and took the finale, 7-5, to give Merrimack the win
