Kate Fisher set a new Merrimack record for the 5k in the team's first-ever championship meet in Division I, as the Warriors finished fifth in the NEC Championships on Saturday.

How It Happened:
- Fisher set a new Merrimack record for the 5k with her fifth place finish, crossing at 18:10 for an All-Conference honor.
- Junior Julia Dempsey was the Warriors second-best team finisher, taking 21st overall with a 19:13 time.
- Freshman Ella Affonato was the third-best Merrimack runner for the afternoon in 31st, with fellow freshman Hannah Brisson taking the team's third-best finish in 35th. Coming in behind that pair was Ella Abruzzese as the team's fifth-best finisher in the race.
Up Next
Merrimack will be off for a few weeks before returning to action on November 23 in the ECAC/1C4A Championships in Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, NY.
