HOPKINTON, N.H. – The Merrimack women's cross country closed out the 2024 season at the Northeast Regional Championships in Hopkinton, N.H . The Warriors finished 28
th in a field of 39 competitors, notching 829 total points.
How it Happened
Ava Mahoney paved the way for the Warriors by cracking the top-100 in a field of over 260 competitors with her 6k time of 21:45.82. Not far behind, was junior
Maci Chapman who crossed the line in 22:34.46 good for 160
th place. Her teammate
Olivia Beaudet also had an impressive performance for the Warriors, clocking in at 22:59.30 to take 187
th place. Freshman
Lily Thomas also scored crucial points for the Warriors with her time of 23:04.44 for a 193
rd place finish.
Olivia Guckian was right on her tail, crossing the line in 23:13.47 to secure 207
th place.
Also helping the Warriors to a 28
th place finish was junior
Marianna Collins and sophomore
Madison Cote. Collins raced 23:24.19 for 220
th and Cote finished in 24:02.05 to claim 246
th place.
This meet was against 39 other teams featuring top Division I contenders: Providence, Syracuse, Boston College, and Harvard. Merrimack topped several conference foes including Sacred Heart, Fairfield, Marist, and Niagara.
