Track and Field with Strong Performances at George Davis Invitational

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College track & field teams had strong performances against teams across New England in the George Davis Invitational at UMass Lowell.

Highlights

• Sophomore Nathan Quaye finished third in the discus with a 44.74m throw before he took seventh in the hammer with a 47.04m throw.
• Three Warriors finished in the top-10 in women's discus, with Hannah Flores taking fifth with a 36.90m throw, Taylor Jax earning eighth with a 32.49m throw with Adrianna Buccieri rounding out the group with a 32.01m throw for ninth.
• Freshmen continued to make waves in the field events, as Alana Johnson finished second in the javelin with a 38.57m throw, joined by Skylar DiMartino taking third behind her in the event with a 36.49m throw.  Anna Gardner earned fourth in pole vault at 2.90m, Abigail Greeley's 5.37m long jump led to a seventh place finish.
• The women had a strong day on the track, with Emma Faivre taking third in the 200m at 26.51, as Samantha LePetri's 2:17.55 finish in the 800m was fourth in the event.
• Carla Bouchrouche earned a second place finish in the 400m hurdles with a 1:06.20 time.
• Distance runners had strong days, as Julia Dempsey finished eighth in the 5000m at 18:29.35, as freshman Colby Barnes' 9:53.97 sent him to sixth place in the two mile run.
• The women's 4x400m relay finished third, as LePetri, Faivre, Bouchrouche and Lane finished at 4:07.13.
