Men's Track and Field Wins Home Meet

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College men's track and field team won in a home quad meet against Bentley, Saint Anselm and Stonehill on Friday. Merrimack finished the meet with 265 total points, the Warriors set a strong finish to the regular season at Duane Stadium.

Meet Highlights:
  • Sweeping the 100m dash were Jadyn Ruimwijk, taking first at 11.18, Eseosa Omuemu finishing second at 11.24, and Alexander Hughes with an 11.28 finish.  
  • In the 1500m the Warriors swept the top three, as TJ Corliss won the event at 4:06.63, Billy Coakley finished second at 4:08.30 and Dylan Kehoe finished third at 4:12.02.
  • Jason Louis and Ralph Desrosiers combined for top finishes in the 400m, with Louis winning the event at 50.96 and Desrosiers taking second with a 52.43 time.
  • In the 400m hurdles, senior Dan Lovell won the event with a 56.85 finish, as Aaron Gable finished second in the 110m hurdles at 15.64.
  • Freshman Timothy Walsh won the 5000m at 16:07.96, with sophomore Brian Belmonte taking third at 16:34.63.
  • Ryan Gamelin won the 3000m at 9:03.04, with Ben Chase taking second in the event at 9:03.08.
  • In the jumps, Eseosa Omuemu won the triple jump at 14.12m with Joron Harrell finishing third with a 613.93m jump.
  • Aaron Gable won the high jump with a 1.78m attempt, with Colin Murphy finished second with a 1.73m jump.
  • Travis Hunt won the hammer throw with a 46.24m toss as Claude Chevalier finished second with his 42.81m throw.
  • Patrick Redmond won the shot put for the Warriors with a 13.78m throw, with Travis Hunt taking second with a 13.66m throw.
  • Freshman Kyle Maruca took second in the discus at 43.70m, with Patrick Redmond finishing third at 42.68m.
  • The 4x100 relay emerged victorious, as Ralph Desrosiers, Davonte McKoy, Jason Louis and Colin Rahaman combined for a 44.22 finish.
  • The 4x400 relay team of Colin Rahaman, Davonte McKoy, Ralph Desrosiers and Dan Lovell finish first for the Warriors to finish out the track events.

Up Next:
Merrimack will send qualifying members to compete in the Northeast Conference Championships on May 1 and 2 in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
